Starting from the Academic Year 2006, it is proposed up grade the classes from V to XII.
The School will follow the Tamilnadu State Board Syllabus.
The medium of instruction is English, however, Hindi will be taught to all students.
Since children are being allowed to choose the second language as Hindi, it would be a problem for children who come from other states.

Every day begins with Physical Training Squad Drill is once a week. These two organized activities under experienced instructors develop loco motor functions, endurance physical growth, improve turnout and bearing and inculcate a sense of discipline and obedience.

Obstacles are a part of life. Obstacles in the physical dimension train the young to develop problem solving skills and sense of fearlessness.

Academics: Well Qualified Instructors impart academic education. Special attention is paid to enhance the academic standard of the cadets. Modern techniques of teaching are used by the dedicated and learned members of the teaching staff. To assess the performance of the cadet monthly tests are held at the end of every month. Progress reports of the students are sent to the parents at the end of the examinations. Apart from the academic aspect cadets are subjected to the obligations inherent in community living. Good manner and discipline form the integral part of the academic training in this academy.

Medical Cover: Child Specialist is the chairman of the academy hence he has made adequate arrangements for regular medical examination of the children. In case a child falls sick, the child will be admitted in the children hospital run by the chairman. The parent will be informed of any serious illness immediately.

A health card will be maintained by the Academy office, in which all the medical record of the cadet , regarding, height, weight and eye check up, dental check up will be maintained. In case of any series illness the parent will be informed immediately. In case any medication is to be given to the cadet, you are requested to inform us in advance. However, we assure you that due care will be taken by our medical expert.

Houses: Since the sainik Academy is a residential school, cadets live in the houses. Each house is under the charge of a House Master / house matron. ( a teacher) with attached tutors and hostel superintendent.

House master selects the students for House appointments as House Captains, Senior and Junior prefects. These house appointments help in smooth running of the house administration.

Age: Not Born before 02 July 1996 and not after 01 July 1997. Ie. The Child should not have completed the age of 10 as on the date of starting of the school.

The age limit for the girl child is up to 10 ½ years. The School has two terms one summer and the other is winter. Vacation between two terms is 6 weeks and 4 weeks respectively.

Proof of age in the form of TC from the old school /Copy of Birth certificate of the child has to be produced along with the final admission form and documents.

Both Boys and Girls are admitted Hostel accommodation is available. Presently they will be made to stay in Dormitories.

since 2006 being the first year of operation of the school a few candidates may be permitted to become day scholars till the Academy's new Hostel comes up.

There will be no entrance examination; instead we will make the child under go an IQ test during the interview prior to admission.

Admission will be made during 01-15 June 2006. The fees will have to be paid in full during the time of admission of the students. In case the parent wishes to pay the fees in parts only two parts are allowed.

However, the first term the parent has to pay 75 % of the fees.

Academy Term:
The Academy session runs from July to May with summer vacation of 9 weeks from May to July and winter vacation of 4 weeks during December and January. There are two terms in the year. One is form July to December and another from January to May.

Weekday Hours Activities

Visits on Last Sunday of the month under arrangements of the school.

Eco Camp to develop leadership quality of the child has been introduced. The child will be housed in a separate camp.

Library: A sincere effort has been made to keep the library with books, which would enable cadets to enhance their knowledge.

A complete set of Encyclopedia, story books, magazines are available. The children are encouraged to read and take notes and do a simple presentation on a subject which would increase the knowledge of the cadet. (A practical Learning method is used for this purpose)

Visits to Defence Units once in a quarter gives them sufficient motivation to prepare themselves for the future career in the armed forces.

The visits include a number of important tourist spots, museums , Parks and fairs.

The school team will be prepared to take part in local competitions, so that the sprit of challenge is always kept fuelled in the minds of the cadets.

Certificate from the Parents/Guardian

An indemnity bond will have to be signed by the parent/Guardian at the time of admission of the child. The same will be provided by the school.

Please attach two more coloured pass port size of photograph of the candidate.

Rules and Regulations for visiting the cadet during the school academic session:

Only on 2nd and 4 th Sunday the parents would be allowed to see their children and take then out for 8 hours out of the premises of the school Hostel.

Normally no leave will be granted to the cadet, except on written request from the parent or guardian giving the details for absence. Maximum leave that can be granted is 07 days.

The cadet will have to wear the walking out dress even while accompanying the parents during the walking out period.

The cadets will be taken for prayers to all the religious places once a week, following a cyclic order. This is being done in order to develop a tolerance for other religions.

Sainik Academy-Contact Details for School

The food is being cooked at home and is being served to cadets in the mess.

Each Cadet will be provided with a set of cutlery, which will be kept centrally and would be laid out during the time of meals. A menu which is approved by the Doctor in charge will be served for the cadets.

The school is now located in its temporary building. It is located 7.5 Kms from the central bus stand and 12 Kms from Coimbatore Railway station.

The local bus service that connect the school to the central bus stand are

2B, 4C, 3K, 3H, 3M, 21 D. From Gandhipuram Bus stand these local buses connect the Academy VOC Nagar, once in every 45 minutes. The bus stops at the door step of the Academy.

The Computer lab will be utilized to give the cadets, a modern education via multimedia. A Common Television set is available for entertaining the students during the week ends. It is necessary for all the cadets to watch the News every day.

News paper is being provided at the hostel. One cadet per day will read out the main headlines of the news during the assembly period. The Academy has a minibus which will be used in case of emergency.

The Hostel has a phone which can be used to call the cadets. The time for using this phone is only between 8 to 9 PM. On Sundays and Holidays between 1000 to 1300 hours and 1700 to 2100 hours.

The Permanent Location of the School would be 22 KMs from the main city where in 20 acres land, has been earmarked for building the campus.

Parents Co-operation Request:: For maintenance of high discipline, efficiency and healthy traditions parents/guardians are expected to extend their full co-operation in the following ways:-

a. Acknowledging promptly all academy circulars regarding fees, escorts and progress reports and extra studies during the vacations.
b. Not asking for leave of absence except in very exceptional circumstances.
c. Ensuring that the cadet rejoins the academy on due date after vacation.
d. Equipping the cadet with clothing and other necessary things required.
e. Ensuring that the cadets do not possess valuable articles such as gold chains, rings etc.
f. By mentioning the cadet's academy number, name, house and class in all the correspondence addressed to him/her or the principal. We will answer your entire quarry through email. In case any reply is required by post please send a self addressed stamped envelope.

Some Does and don'ts for Parents / Guardian

Please note that the aim of this academy is to coach cadets to choose Armed Forces as their career at the end of the school     session.
In order to facilitate this aim, the school authorities will be giving a lot of stress on academics and over all development of the child.
You are requested to make a visit only during the permitted week of the month ie 2nd and 4th week Sunday.
Do not ask for leave, if the same can be avoided.
The academy being run by former defence officer, indiscipline will be strictly dealt with.

Pocket money the parents are requested to deposit the Pocket money the rate of Rs.100 per month, which will be used to buy the monthly consumable items.

All the boxes will be kept under lock and key.
Please do not put any jewelry on the person of the cadets.
We do not even permit a watch to be worn by the cadet.
Cadets will be asked to write a letter a week. This will be done on every Saturday. Hence you are requested to give the child at     least 10 inland envelop to the cadet.
Once in a year annual day will be celebrated. The parent will be informed about this in writing/e mail.
The Academy officials may be contact over phone/ email.
The mess will serve only vegetarian food. However, eggs will be given thrice a week.
