All India Post Graduate Entrance Examination for Admission Under 50% Open Merit Seats Quota in MD/MS/PG Diploma and MDS Courses in Medical & Dental Colleges

Applications are invited in the prescribed form for All India Post Graduate Medical / Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE-2007) to be conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences on Sunday, the 14th January, 2007 for admission under open merit seats quota in various Postgraduate (MD/MS/PG Diploma & MDS) courses in Medical and Dental Colleges in the country run by the Union of India, State Governments (except Government of Andhra Pradesh and J&K) and Municipal or other local authorities.

Eligibility:
(1) Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.

(2) The candidate must possess MBBS/BDS degree from a recognised Medical / Dental College or a foreign degree included in the schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 AND full registration either from the Medical / Dental Council of India or State Medical / Dental Council after completing the compulsory rotating internship.

(3) Candidates who have obtained MBBS / BDS from Medical / Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to apply. However, candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare / D.G.H.S., New Delhi) to do MBBS/BDS from Medical/Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply subject to submission of requisite documents specified in the Prospectus.

(4) The candidates should complete the required period of pre-registration internship in a recognised Hospital by 31st March, 2007.

The request must reach the Assistant Controller of Examination, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi -110 029 before 11.11.2006 request received thereafter will not be entertained. Money Order / Cheque/ Postal Order / Cash or any other form of payment will NOT be accepted for postal sale. The words "REQUEST FOR APPLICATION FORM FOR AIPGMEE-2007" should be written on the envelope containing request for application form, and also on top of the request letter. The address at which Application Form is required should be written clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS and with PIN code. IMPORTANT:

(1) Candidates must obtain application forms ONLY from an authorized branch of S.B.I, or by post from Examination Section of AIIMS. Forms obtained from an unauthorized source will be rejected.

(2) Candidates are advised to procure blank application forms as early as possible instead of waiting for the last date. If the Application Forms are sold out before the last date of sale and the same are not available, AIIMS / State Bank of India or its specified branches will not be responsible for any consequences that may arise due to non-availability of forms. AFMC Entrance Exam for BSc (Nursing)/ General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)
Applications are invited from FEMALE candidates only, for admission to 4 years B.Sc (Nursing) training course commencing in Jun/Jul 2007 at College of Nursing, AFMC, Pune and 3 ½ years Training in Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery Course Commencing in Aug/ Sep 2007 at various Schools of Nursing in Armed Forces.

Selected candidates shall execute an Agreement/ Bond to serve in the Military Nursing Service (MNS) for at least 5 years. On successful completion of Nursing Training (4 & 3 % yrs), the candidates will be granted commission in the Military Nursing Service, under the terms & conditions laid down for grant of such commission. They shall have to refund the entire cost of training in the event of withdrawal from the course, termination of training or refusal to accept commission in the MNS, if offered. During training they will be provided with free ration, accommodation, uniform allowance and monthly stipend.

Written Examination Centres: Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandimandir, Kochi, Dehradun, Delhi, Danapur, Guwahati, Jabalpur, Jammu, Jaipur, Lucknow, Chennai, Secunderabad, Thiruvananthapuram & Vishakhapatnam. The number of Centres may change as per the number of Candidates appearing for the written test.

Those who have passed such examinations as Private Students or with compartment in any subject are not eligible.
e) Physical Standards - Candidates should be Medically Fit. Medical fitness will be determined as per Military standards laid down by Military Authorities. X-ray examination of Chest will also be done. Minimum Height should be 142 cms.
f) Selection: Eligible applicants will be called for an objective type Written Test of 90 minutes duration covering the topics in General English, Biology and General Intelligence, likely to be held in Jan/Feb 2007. The parts of question paper pertaining to Biology and General Intelligence will be bilingual. Candidates as per merit on the basis of written test will be called for Interview during Mar/Apr 2007. Final selection will be as per combined merit, subject to medical fitness.
g) Medical Examination: After the interview the recommended candidates will have to appear for medical examination before a Special Medical Board (SMB). Candidates declared TEMPORARY UNFIT/ UNFIT will be informed by the President of the Medical Board regarding the procedure for requesting for APPEAL/REVIEW MEDICAL BOARD.

4. The NRI, PIO or FN candidate who has passed the MBBS or equivalent examination exam from a college outside India shall be eligible for the admission, provided he/she obtains registration from the Medical Council of India.

Candidates who are pursuing Post Graduate Course after being selected by UPPGMEE/ AH India Pre Medical/ Dental Entrance Examination shall be eligible, only if he/she has resigned and the resignation has been accepted by the Principal of the concerned Medical/Dental College and has refunded the stipend received by him/her during the said course before the notification of this examination.

5. Candidates must have completed compulsory rotatory internship by 1st May, 2007.

6. Vertical reservation for SC, S.T., & O.B.C. and Horizontal compartmentalized reservation for Physically Handicapped category shall be applicable as per Govt. directives. Candidates who wish to avail the benefit of reservation in physically handicapped category must obtain certificate by appearing before
Special Medical Board constituted by D.G.M.E. at Govt. Medical Colleges, Agra, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Meerut, Kanpur and K.G. Medical University, Lucknow on 13 & 14 October, 2006.

1. A Master’s degree in the discipline securing not less than 55% of marks in the aggregate or MBBS/BE/B.Tech. They have to work on full time basis for a minimum period of THREE years. Two years in case of having M.Phil/DM in Neurology/M.Ch in Neurosurgery/MD/MS/DNB from a recognized University or from any other University recognized as equivalent thereto by NIMHANS. Two Years MA/M.Sc. degree in Psychology or two-year M.Phil. degree in Clinical Psychology (NIMHANS) in case of Mental Health & Social Psychology.

2. Candidates with master's degree obtained through research and awarded on the basis of the evaluation of the thesis (from a University recognized by NIMHANS which do not award marks at the master's level) are also eligible to apply for Ph.D. programme.

MD in Psychiatry:

(a) MBBS: The duration of the course will be for a period of three years.
(b) Diploma in Psychiatry (DPM): The duration of the course will be for a period of two years.

MSc in Psychiatric Nursing Course:

(a) The course is open to those who are registered Nurses with BSc/ BSc (Hons) in Nursing.
(b) Should have a minimum of two years of experience after obtaining BSc/ BSc (Hons) in Nursing degree in Hospital, Nursing Education, Institution or Community Health setting.
Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing (DPN) AND Diploma in Neurological & Neurosurgical Nursing (DNN): Should possess ‘A’ Grade Certificate in General Nursing, recognized by Indian Nursing Council should be registered nurse in the State Nursing Council with two years experience.

Common for all Courses:

The qualifying degrees for all the above mentioned courses should be from a recognized University or from any other University recognized as equivalent thereto by NIMHANS. For medical qualification the degree should be recognized by the Medical Council of India.
The Candidates should have obtained not less than 55% of Marks in the aggregate of the Master's degree for non-medical courses.

A relaxation of 5% on the aggregate of marks obtained will be given for non-medical and Ph.D. courses in respect of SC/ST candidates.

GUIDELINES: In respect of Non-Medical Courses, candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examinations and are awaiting results may also apply. However, such candidates will be eligible to appear for the Entrance Test, only if they produce the proof of having passed the examination in writing issued by the University as on the date of entrance test. In respect of Medical Courses, the candidates should have completed one year internship and registration with State Medical Council on or before 1st May 2007 (proof of completion from competent authority to be produced at the time of joining, failing which admission will be cancelled).

4. Foreign Nationals are required to submit their applications through the Diplomatic Channel (through the Ministry of External Affairs). They shall also appear for the common Entrance Test along with the other candidates.
5. Sponsored candidates should submit their application through proper channel and they should also appear for the NIMHANS Common Entrance Test.
6. AGE LIMIT: For MD & DPM Courses the age should not be more than 32 years and, relaxable in case of SC/ST Candidates by a maximum of 5 years as on the date of commencement of Courses. For sponsored candidates age should not be more than 40 years as on the date of commencement of the Courses. The candidates should produce the sponsorship certificate in the prescribed format.
7. Registration Fee: For MD & DPM Rs.500/- for each course and no registration fee for Non-Medical courses.
8. Duly filled in application should be sent to the Director, NIMHANS, P.B.No.2900, Bangalore – 560 029 along with a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director, NIMHANS towards registration fee by superscribing the name of the course applied for on the Cover.

AFMC Exam 2007:

Applications are invited for admission to the MBBS course at Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, commencing from 01 Aug 2006. Total 130 candidates (including a maximum of 25 girls) will be selected. All the 105 boys and 25 girls admitted to Armed Forces Medical College, Pune have compulsory liability to serve as a commissioned officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services on graduation. The type of commission will depend upon the vacancies available and merit-cum-option at the final MBBS examination. The liability of the SSC officers passing out of AFMC to serve the Armed Forces Medical Services would be seven (7) years. All candidates admitted to the college are required to execute a bond to this effect for an amount of Rs.15 lacs( Rupees Fifteen lacs) at the time of joining the college. Students removes from service liability due to any reason will have to pay the bond money as per conditions laid down by Govt. of India.

Ten seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates who also have similar service liability and have to fulfill the requirements of medical fitness, age, educational qualification and qualifying the entrance examination, as per details given in the prospectus.

Special Concessions: The Govt. will provide free accommodation and entitled rations, subsidised messing, second class railway fare from college to home and back during vacations, a book subsidy of Rs. 8,000/- during entire training period, uniform allowance of Rs.2500/- per student during first year and Rs. 500 /- per year for maintenance allowance in subsequent years and any other misc. allowances as applicable.

Eligibility for AFMC 2007:

Applicants must have passed the 12th standard/ pre-professional/ premedical examination or equivalent examination of statutory Indian University/ Board or any other recognized Board/ University as a regular student in all the subjects opted for in First Attempt with the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology securing not less than 60% of aggregate marks in the three science subjects taken together, not less than 50% marks in each of the science subjects and not less than 50% marks in English. They must have also passed in Mathematics atleast of the matriculation standard. A graduate of B.Sc. examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Bi0logy ( Botany or Zoology) and also must have passed the earlier qualifying examination i.e. 12th standard/ Pre professional (Med) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and obtained marks as stated above.

NOTE:

(a) Candidates who are to appear in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) upto 06 May 2006 may also appear for the test provisionally.

(b) The following categories of the students are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply:-

(i) Candidates who have passed in Domestic Science, Domestic Arithmetic, Lowe Maths separately or in combination with other subjects like General Science, Social studies in High School/ Higher Secondary (Multi Purpose) or equivalent examination

(ii) Candidates who have passed only Pre-University/ Pre-Degree( one year course) or Pre-Professional in Agriculture/ Dental Examination/ Veterinary

(iii) Candidates who have passed the Pre-Professional or equivalent qualifying examination as private candidates.

Age Limit:

Must have attained the age of 17 years on 31 December 2006 but must NOT have attained the age of 22 years on the date i.e. not born earlier than 01 January 1985 and not later than 31 December 1989, if the academic qualification of the candidate is 10+2 or equivalent. A candidate who has passed B.Sc. examination and seeks admission must not have attained the age of 24 years on 31 December 2006 i.e. must have been born earlier than o1 January 1983.

Application material will be sent by Speed / Registered Post, however Institute will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay.

The request for application must include the name and address of the candidate, and full particulars of the enclosed DD/BC.

Two self-addressed, preferably typed, white paper slips of 10 cm 6 cm size MUST also accompany it.

The envelope containing requisition for PMT application form and demand draft should be superscribed "Request for Application for PMT-2007, BHU". Last date for requisition for PMT form by post is mid February 2007.

Incomplete/ non-cashable Draft (under amount/unsigned/ without Bank Code No. & Seal) shall not be accepted for sending the Application Form.
