Eligibility for CEE Entrance Exam:

Indian Citizen, the candidate should have studied in educational institutions in Kerala for at least five years within a total period of 12 years before the completion of qualifying exam (Pre degree or equivalent exam) or the candidate, or the candidate's father/mother should have born in Kerala or , the candidate has been a resident of Kerala, for a period of 5-year within a period of 12 years. Or Non-Keralaite candidates who have undergone the qualifying course in Kerala, and who are sons/daughters of the following categories of non-Keralite parents:

Emplyees of the Government of India, or Defence Personnel posted in Kerala, or employees who are serving in connection with the affairs of the Government of Kerala, subject to the condition that the employees concerned have served in Kerala for a minimum period of two years or have served in connection with the affairs of the Government of Kerala for a minimum period of Two years.

Academic Qualification for Engineering Courses:

Pre-degree from any one the universities in Kerala, or any of her Examination recognized any of the universities in Kerala State as equivalent, thereto with 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics put together or 3 year Diploma in Engineering with 50 % marks in the Final Diploma examination are also eligible. Admission to Diploma holders in Engineering courses is restricted to the Engineering colleges, under the Kerala and Mahatma Gandhi Universities only. Relaxation of 5% marks of certain specified categories listed under the Socially Educationally Backward classes whose annual family income is below Rs.42,000/-. This limit is not applicable for admission to payment seats. In case of the SC/ST candidates, they need only a pass. Those who have appeared for the Pre-degree exam or equivalent exam are also permitted to take the Common Entrance Examination.

Age for CEE Entrance Exam: Should have completed 17 years of age on 31st December of the year of admission.

The seats available in various professional colleges in the State of Karnataka have been in the first place, divided into free and payment seats and then shared between the managements and State Government. The payment seats are further sub-divided into Karnataka quota and Non-Karnataka quota.Admissions to these seats will be made in accordance with the Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Engineering, Medical and Dental Courses Rules, 1997, as amended from time to time, which has been framed under the Karnataka Educational Institution ( Prohibition of Capitation Fee ) Act, 1984 and therefore all the details and instructions contained in this Brochure are subject to the said Rules and in case of any discrepancy the Rules prevail.

Mode Of Admission for CET Entrance Exam
In order to qualify for admission to any of the courses and colleges a student will have to face a Common Entrance Test which will be conducted by the Common Entrance Test Cell, Bangalore in 40 places, spread over Karnataka.

Who Can Apply for CET Entrance Exam?
A person who has passed the second year Pre-University or XII standard or equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in respect of Engineering courses and Physics, Chemistry and Biology in respect of Medical and Dental courses as optional subjects and English as one of the languages and has obtained not less than fifty (50) percent, of the aggregate marks or equivalent grade in the optional subjects is eligible for admission.Further, the person seeking admission to Medical and Dental courses should have completed the age of seventeen years as on 31st December of 2000.

So, not only a person who has passed the qualifying examination with requisite marks but also a person who has appeared for the qualifying examination and who is expecting the results is also eligible to apply for the Common Entrance Test, subject to the condition that the Karnataka quota candidates shall submit the qualifying examination marks card atleast within one week from the day of the CET, failing which no rank will be assigned to the candidate and Non-Karnataka candidates shall submit the marks card on the day of seat selection.

Outside Karnataka Students for CET Entrance Exam
Candidates who have studied or studying XII std. or intermediate or pre-degree or equivalent examinations out side Karnataka in any state within India or in a foreign country can get the brochure cum application only through post, directly from the CET Cell, by sending a cloth lined self-addressed envelope of 25 cms x 30 cms size and a demand draft for Rs.500/- drawn in favour of the Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore on any Bank in Bangalore.

The envelope in which the said two items are sent should be boldly superscribed with the words REQUEST FOR BROCHURE and should be sent by SPEED POST only.
The last day for receipt of request for brochures will be 8-3-2000. So, any request received after that day will not be entertained.

Eligibility For Admission To Non-Karnataka Quota Seats for CET Entrance Exam
A candidate who does not satisfy any of the conditions laid down for Karnataka quota seats will have the opportunity of availing a seat under Non-Karnataka quota.
In the result sheets , Non-Karnataka candidates will be assigned ranks without ascertaining their academic eligibility. Mere assigning of rank does not confer a right to select a seat.

Eligibility - EAMCET Entrance Exam Age between 17 to 22 years as on December 31. (For those holding BSc/MSc degrees and SC/ST candidates below 25 years are eligible). 16 years for BPharma. Inter School Exam (10 + 2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (including practicals). Medical fitness is also required.

Reservation - EAMCET Entrance Exam 15 % for SC, 6 % for ST, 25 % for BC, 1 % for Children of Service/ Ex-Serviceman, 30 % for Woman Candidates.

Method of Selection for JAT Entrance Exam Selection is made on the basis of merit at the entrance test. Candidates have to produce a medical fitness certificate. Candidates belonging to SC/ST or an other reserved category are selected against the quota reserved for them.

The test consists of three papers of 3 hours duration: Maths, Physics and Chemistry of 100 marks each. The test is held at the places notified by the Director of Technical Education from time to time. The standard of the test is that of Intermediate.

All admissions (except for Government of India nominees and other reservations) to these colleges are made from the merit list prepared by the Mandal on the basis of Entrance Examination. Selection (except Government nominees) is made on the basis of merit in the PET. The syllabus for the PET is the same as prescribed by the Board of Secondary Education, MP for their Higher Secondary Exam. Entrance Examination - CET Entrance Exam: The Joint Entrance Examination is held in the month of May at Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Patiala, Delhi, Amritsar, Bhatinda, Ferozpur, Gurudaspur, Sangrur, Shimla, Jammu and Kurukshetra only. The examination comprises of five sessions. Session I, II and III will contain Objective Type questions in Physics, Chemistry and Maths and descriptive type questions containing short answer questions and numerical problems. Session IV is the test for proficiency in Punjabi Language to be taken by those candidates who are Punjabis settled in other States and are desirous of seeking admission to Guru Nanak Engineering College. Ludhiana and Baba Banda Singh Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib. Session V is to test the Architectural aptitude of the candidates and is only for the students seeking admission to B.Arch. course.

Age Limit for CET Entrance Exam Candidate should not be above 22 years of age July 1 of the year of admission (3 years relaxation in case of SC/St candidates).

Selection Procedure for CET Entrance Exam: On the basis of Entrance Examination, Punjab University will publish merit list of candidates who obtain 15 per cent marks (10 per cent for SC / ST / BC ) in aggregate. The admission to Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala and other three affiliated to the Punjab University, Chandigarh shall be based on the relative merit of candidates determined by the result of the Joint Entrance Test.

Application Procedure for CET Entrance Exam: The candidates desirous of seeking admission to any of the College / Departments should obtain application forms and prospectuses at the appropriate time and must submit the same to the concerned Institution / Department by the due date as notified by them.

A copy of the CET Prospectus / Information Brochure containing rules, syllabus, Model Test Papers, General Information and Application form, etc., may be obtained during March / April on cash payment of prescribed fees at the Counter from the Cashier, Punjab University, Chandigarh or by post from the Secretary, Publication Bureau, Punjab University, Chandigarh by sending MO or crossed IPO in favour of the Registrar, Punjab University, Chandigarh Colleges (as mentioned in the admission notification) conducted by the CET.

Last Date for CET Entrance Exam: Last date for submission of completed CET form alongwith the requisite fees in the month of March / April.

The Test is held usually in the month of May/June.

Pattern of Examination for UPCPMT Entrance Exam:
(i) B.E., B.Tech., B.Tech (Chem. Tech.) (4 years), B.Arch. (5 years); Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
(ii) B.TEch, (Agr. engg) (4 years); Physics, Chemistry and Maths or AG-I, AG-II, AG-III.
(iii) B. Arch. (5 years) at GCA, Lucknow; Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Aptitude Test in Architecture.

However, the merit list will be prepared based on aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

In the Preliminary Examination each candidate is required to appear in one paper only as per details given below:

Group A or C:
For admission to 4/5 year course for BE/B.Tech / B.Arch/B.Tech. (Agr. Engg.) / B.Tech. (Chem. Tech.) candidates who have passed / appeared in Intermediate Examination or equivalent with PCM (also English for RECs). Paper to be taken is of 3 hours duration consisting of objective type questions in Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

Group B:
For admission to 4 year course for B.Tech. (Agr. Engg) candidates who have passed / appeared in intermediate Examination in Agriculture. Paper to be taken is of 3 hours duration consisting of objective type questions in Agr. Physics and Chemistry, Agr. Engineering and Statistics, Agronomy and Agr. Botany.
The Main Examination consists of three groups of papers (Given below) made on the basis of eligibility requirements of all the courses. A candidate has to select one and only one group out of the se three groups for the exam.

Group A:
For admission to 4/5 year course for BE/B.Tech/B.Arch/ B.Tech. (Chem. Tech.) / B. Tech. (Agr. Engg.). Candidates who have passed / appeared in Intermediate or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Papers to be taken at the CEE are Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

Group B:
B.Tech. (Agr. Engineering) 4 - year course. Candidates who have passed Intermediate examination in Agriculture. CEE Papers are: AG_I (Agricultural Physics and Chemistry), AG-II (Agricultural Engg. and Statistics) and AG-III (Agronomy and Agricultural Botany).

Group C:
For admission to 4/5 year course for BE/B.Tech./B.Arch. (at GCA, Lucknow) B.Tech. (Agr. Engg.) / B.Tech. (Chem. Tech.) Candidates who have passed Intermediate examination with Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Papers to be taken at CEE are Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Aptitude Test in Architecture.

Age Limit for UPCPMT Entrance Exam For most of the Institutions, (except other REs) maximum age is 22 years on October1 (relaxable by three years for SC/ST and UP Backward Class candidates) of the year of admission. However, there is no age limit at a few of the Regional Engineering Colleges.

Selection Procedure for UPCPMT Entrance Exam:
(a) All seats for three-years B.Tech. (Chemical Technology) courses at BHTI, Kanpur.
(b) 15 per cent seats at College, of Technology, GB Pant University Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar.
. Selection: Candidates are selected in order of merit of Combined Entrance Examination. No candidate shall be included in the merit list if he/she fails to secure minimum qualifying marks in aggregate in the papers indicated against each course. The minimum qualifying marks for different categories will be as per the decision of the UP State Govt. this shall be absolutely exclusive of any weightage applicable to the candidates.
Merit list for eligible candidates belonging to various categories will be prepared. The merit list will be prepared for the different courses given below based on marks secured in the papers indicated against each course and the weightage if any.

Application Procedure for UPCPMT Entrance Exam: Application forms with information brochure are available from first week of January of the year of admission from all the institutions of UP mentioned above against cash payment of requisite amount per form. The forms can also be obtained b post from the Coordinator. Admission Committee (Institute conducting the CEE) against Postal Order / Bank Draft of requisite amount in favour of Coordinator, Admission Committee.

Last Date for UPCPMT Entrance Exam: Last date for submission of completed CET form alongwith the requisite fees in the month of March / April.

Examination Centres for UPCPMT Entrance Exam: The Preliminary Examination is held in 3rd week of May. The Main Examination is held on two days in the 3rd week of June at the Centres indicated below. The examination in papers of Group B will be held only at Allahabad, Delhi, Lucknow, Pantnagar.

The examination for the papers of Groups A and C will be held at Agra, Aligarh, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bareilly, Bhopal, Calcutta, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Dwarhat (Almora), Etawah, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Haridwar, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jhansi, Kanpur, Kurukshetra, Lucknow, Meerut, Moradabad, Mumbai, Nainital, Pantanagar, Pauri Garhwal, Ranchi, Roorkee, Sultanpur, Varanasi. Last date for submission of completed CET form alongwith the requisite fees in the month of March / April.

Medium of Examination: Candidates appearing in the CEE have the option to answer the papers in English or in Hindi. Only standard English numerals are used.

Age Limit for West Bengal JEE Entrance Exam Not over 21 years on August 1 of the year of admission (Relaxable by 3 years for SC/ST). For REC Durgapur, the upper age limit is 23 as on August 1 of the year of admission (26 years for SC/ST). For Jadavpur University, however, there is no age limit.

Selection Procedure for Joint Entrance Examination: Admission is made on the basis of marks obtained in the Joint Entrance Examination which is held on two days. The subjects of the Test and scheme of the papers is as follows:
1. Subject Duration Marks
2. Mathematics 3 Hrs. 200
3. Physics 3 Hrs. 100
4. Chemistry 3 Hrs. 100

The questions set on each of the subjects are in English language and of such standard, which a student who has completed the courses of studies for the Higher Secondary Examination in Science or Technical Stream of the Board of Secondary Education with Math's and English and has a sound grasp over the subject can be able to answer.

Application Procedure for West Bengal JEE Entrance Exam: Application form and other relevant information about the JEE can be obtained from the above mentioned colleges on cash payment of the requisite amount. The form can also be obtained by post from West Bengal Board of Examination, Slater Hall, BE College, Howrah - 711 103 by paying through a IPO of the requisite amount. Completed application form alongwith bank challan should reach the Board office by the notified date. After the receipt of the application by the Board, on Admit Card is sent to each applicant, informing his / her examination for JEE.

Admission for Engg. Degree College except Jadhavpur University: Application form may be obtained from the College on payment of requisite fee on cash or on production of original Admit Card of JEE by the candidates whose names appear in the merit list provided by the Board. The forms are available after the publication of the Merit List. Completed application should reach the Central Selection Committee for Engineering & Technological Degree Colleges, C/o. Bengal Engineering College, Howrah - 711 103. The Jadavpur University and Regional Engineering College, Durgapur issue separate application form and receive them. Application form of merit listed candidates can be collected from the Information Office of Jadavpur University on cash payment of the requisite amount. For Jadhavpur University, forms are not sent by post. Candidates are required to report directly for interview alongwith the application form, filled alongwith all the particulars.

The applicants are advised not to make any equiry regarding Admit - Cards before May 17, 2004. RESERVATIONS
(a) In each college and in each course 19% of the total nos. of seats, shall be reserved for SC, 4% for ST and 14% for OBC category of candidates.
(b) In each College and in each Course, horizontal reservation of 2% of total seats in that category, shall be reserved for dependants of freedom fighters, 2% for sons and daughters of defence personnel died or disabled in war, 3% for physically handicapped and 20% for women candidates.

ELIGIBILITY - UPMT Entrance Exam :
1) The applicant should be a citizen of India and a bonafide (Permanent) resident of the State of Uttaranchal.
2) Such applicants who are not the bonafide (permanent) resident of Uttaranchal State but have passed the qualifying examination or have appeared/appearing for the qualifying examination in 2004, from a recognized educational institution situated in Uttranchal State, will be eligible for the U.P.M.T.2004 examination. However, such candidates will not be eligible or entitled for any type of reserved seats, under any circumstances.
3) The Candidate should have been born on or before 31.12.1987.
4) The Candidate should have passed or appeared/appearing in Intermediate Science (Biology group) (10+2) with English and shoul have secured a minimum of 50% marks in appregate as well as 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology subjects. For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the percentage of above mentioned marks will be 40% in place of 50%.
5) Those candidates who have passed or appeared in the Madhyama Examination - 2004 with Science subjects from Sampoornanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Varanasi, are eligible for admission to BAMS course only.
6) For BAMS/BHMS course, the minimum eligibility of marks in the qualifying examination shall be 35%.
7) All relevant information pertaining to U.P.M.T.-2004 are available in the Information Brochure.

The departments which offer admission in Base, Diploma and Degree Modules in Technology are : Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Agricultural Engineering. Computer Science Department offers admission to Diploma and Degree Modules only. Department of Applied Science offers admission to Base Module of two years and Degree Module of four years in Forestry.

RESERVATION AND ALLOCATION OF SEATS NEE Entrance Exam: 70% of total seats allotted at the rate of 10% each to the seven NE states and will be filled as per the reservation policy of respective State Governments. 10% seats shall be filled on all India basis as per reservation policy of Central Govt. A non - refundable fee of Rs. 600/- (Rs.150/- for SC/ST/Handicapped) is to be paid along with the application form. Note :
(I) Candidates appeared / appearing in the qualifying examination for NEE - I/ NEE - II/ NEE - III may also apply. However, they must produce the requisite pass certificate / marks sheets on the day of counseling/ registration failing which their selection shall stand cancelled.
(2) Candidates selected for admission to Degree Module through NEE - III shall have to undergo bridge course for two semesters (one year), besides the four- semester regular courses.
