DETAILS OF Kerala CEE Entrance Exam
Medical Course
A Common Entrance Examination (CEE) is conducted by Controller of Entrance Examination. (The State Government of Kerala), Kerala for admission to the MBBS, BDS, B, BSc Nursing, B.Sc., MLT, BHMS, BAMS course during June in the Districts of the State.

Eligibility CEE Entrance Exam : Age : 17 years as in 31st December of the year of admission.
Pre-degree of Kerala Universities or equivalent with PCB (as optional subjects) with 50% aggregate Marks (for SC/ST a mere pass and for SEBC 45%)
BSc degree (3 years) with PCZ,
Botany/BioChem with 50% (for SC/ST a mere pass and for SEBC 45%) in main and subsidiary subjects taken together.
They should have passed the qualifying exam with PCB.

Reservation CEE Entrance Exam:
1. 15% for All India Entrance Exam
2. 50 % for Kerala State Merit
3. 15% Kerala regional merit

Socially and Educationally backward classes (SEBC) 25% SC 8 % and ST 2%.

Selection of Candidates for CEE Entrance Exam for B.Tech courses in th REC's against the seats reserved for Kerala, is based on performance in this Common Entrance Examination. Any candidates seeking admission to REC, who has qualified in the Pre-Degree or equivalent examination, from Educational Institutions located within the State of Kerala, is eligible for admission to the seats reserved for Kerala in the 17 RECs.

The NRI candidates who seek admission to the seats other than NRI quota, which are to be filled on the basis of rank in the Common Entrance Exam, can apply in the prescribed application form, provided they appear for the Common Entrance Exam. Eligibility for CEE Entrance Exam:

Indian Citizen, the candidate should have studied in educational institutions in Kerala for at least five years within a total period of 12 years before the completion of qualifying exam (Pre degree or equivalent exam) or the candidate, or the candidate's father/mother should have born in Kerala or , the candidate has been a resident of Kerala, for a period of 5-year within a period of 12 years. Or Non-Keralaite candidates who have undergone the qualifying course in Kerala, and who are sons/daughters of the following categories of non-Keralite parents:

Emplyees of the Government of India, or Defence Personnel posted in Kerala, or employees who are serving in connection with the affairs of the Government of Kerala, subject to the condition that the employees concerned have served in Kerala for a minimum period of two years or have served in connection with the affairs of the Government of Kerala for a minimum period of Two years.

Academic Qualification for Engineering Courses:

Pre-degree from any one the universities in Kerala, or any of her Examination recognized any of the universities in Kerala State as equivalent, thereto with 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics put together or 3 year Diploma in Engineering with 50 % marks in the Final Diploma examination are also eligible. Admission to Diploma holders in Engineering courses is restricted to the Engineering colleges, under the Kerala and Mahatma Gandhi Universities only. Relaxation of 5% marks of certain specified categories listed under the Socially Educationally Backward classes whose annual family income is below Rs.42,000/-. This limit is not applicable for admission to payment seats. In case of the SC/ST candidates, they need only a pass. Those who have appeared for the Pre-degree exam or equivalent exam are also permitted to take the Common Entrance Examination.

Age for CEE Entrance Exam: Should have completed 17 years of age on 31st December of the year of admission.

Karnataka [ CET ]
Introduction for CET Entrance Exam
The Common Entrance Test is being conducted for the purpose of admission of students to the I year or I semester of full time courses in Medical, Dental and Engineering Courses in professional colleges within the State of Karnataka in respect of the seats falling to the share of the State Government.

The seats available in various professional colleges in the State of Karnataka have been in the first place, divided into free and payment seats and then shared between the managements and State Government. The payment seats are further sub-divided into Karnataka quota and Non-Karnataka quota.Admissions to these seats will be made in accordance with the Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Engineering, Medical and Dental Courses Rules, 1997, as amended from time to time, which has been framed under the Karnataka Educational Institution ( Prohibition of Capitation Fee ) Act, 1984 and therefore all the details and instructions contained in this Brochure are subject to the said Rules and in case of any discrepancy the Rules prevail.

Mode Of Admission for CET Entrance Exam
In order to qualify for admission to any of the courses and colleges a student will have to face a Common Entrance Test which will be conducted by the Common Entrance Test Cell, Bangalore in 40 places, spread over Karnataka.

Who Can Apply for CET Entrance Exam?
A person who has passed the second year Pre-University or XII standard or equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in respect of Engineering courses and Physics, Chemistry and Biology in respect of Medical and Dental courses as optional subjects and English as one of the languages and has obtained not less than fifty (50) percent, of the aggregate marks or equivalent grade in the optional subjects is eligible for admission.Further, the person seeking admission to Medical and Dental courses should have completed the age of seventeen years as on 31st December of 2000.

So, not only a person who has passed the qualifying examination with requisite marks but also a person who has appeared for the qualifying examination and who is expecting the results is also eligible to apply for the Common Entrance Test, subject to the condition that the Karnataka quota candidates shall submit the qualifying examination marks card atleast within one week from the day of the CET, failing which no rank will be assigned to the candidate and Non-Karnataka candidates shall submit the marks card on the day of seat selection.

Outside Karnataka Students for CET Entrance Exam
Candidates who have studied or studying XII std. or intermediate or pre-degree or equivalent examinations out side Karnataka in any state within India or in a foreign country can get the brochure cum application only through post, directly from the CET Cell, by sending a cloth lined self-addressed envelope of 25 cms x 30 cms size and a demand draft for Rs.500/- drawn in favour of the Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore on any Bank in Bangalore.

The envelope in which the said two items are sent should be boldly superscribed with the words REQUEST FOR BROCHURE and should be sent by SPEED POST only.
The last day for receipt of request for brochures will be 8-3-2000. So, any request received after that day will not be entertained.

Eligibility For Admission To Non-Karnataka Quota Seats for CET Entrance Exam
A candidate who does not satisfy any of the conditions laid down for Karnataka quota seats will have the opportunity of availing a seat under Non-Karnataka quota.
In the result sheets , Non-Karnataka candidates will be assigned ranks without ascertaining their academic eligibility. Mere assigning of rank does not confer a right to select a seat.

Candidates who have secured 50% or more in aggregate in PCM or PCB as the case may be in the Qualifying Examination, are only eligible to participate in the seat selection process. Candidates without academic

Eligibility - EAMCET Entrance Exam

Those who have appeared in the qualifying exam are also eligible.

Age - EAMCET Entrance Exam Minimum 16 years on Dec.31 of the year of admission. Candidates must be of Indian nationality. Admission is open to residents of the State of Andhra Pradesh.

Payment Seats - EAMCET Entrance Exam 50 % of seats in private engineering colleges which include NRI candidates also.

Selection - EAMCET Entrance Exam is made according to the merit in EAMCET. The test consists of multiple choice object type questions in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates who seek admission to 5-year BArch course have to appear for an Aptitude test separately, after qualifying the EAMCET. The aptitude test is conducted at JNTU, School of planning & Architecture, Hyderabad during September.

Medical - EAMCET Entrance Exam
Admission - EAMCET Entrance Exam to MBBS/BDS/BPharma/BAMS/BUMS/BHMS in Medical and Dental colleges affiliated to AP University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada is made through State Level Engineering, Agricultural & Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET).

Eligibility - EAMCET Entrance Exam Age between 17 to 22 years as on December 31. (For those holding BSc/MSc degrees and SC/ST candidates below 25 years are eligible). 16 years for BPharma. Inter School Exam (10 + 2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (including practicals). Medical fitness is also required.

Reservation - EAMCET Entrance Exam 15 % for SC, 6 % for ST, 25 % for BC, 1 % for Children of Service/ Ex-Serviceman, 30 % for Woman Candidates.

Entrance Test - EAMCET Entrance Exam is in English and Telegu and of objective type multiple choice including Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in EAMCET.

Delhi [ CEE ]
Delhi University Medical-Dental Entrance Test (DUMET), DUMET 2005
A combined Entrance Examination (CEE) for admission to First Semester of Bachelor of Engineering Courses in Delhi College of Engineering and Delhi Institute of Technology is held by the Delhi University every year generally in the month of June.

Minimum Qualification for CEE Entrance Exam
The candidates should have passed Senior School Certificate Examination (12-year Course) conducted by CBSE or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto by the University of Delhi with 60% or above marks in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (50% or more for candidates, belonging to SC/ST category and 55% forwards of Defence Personnel). Candidates must have also passed in English (Core or Elective) either at Class X or Class XII examination.

The candidates, who are appearing in the qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply for the test.

The Test is held usually in the month of May/June.

Reservations for CEE Entrance Exam
(i) 15% seats for Scheduled Castes:
(ii) 7½% seats for Schedule Tribes out of the total seats for admission. From out of the Delhi quota following seats are reserved:
(iii) 5 per cent of total seats under category (i) in each course for children/widows of Personnel of Armed / Para Military Forces Killed/disabled in action during hostilities;

A candidate must have passed the Inter Exam with Chemistry, Physics and Maths as subjects or an equivalent exam.

The Test is held usually in the month of May/June.

Reservations - BCECE Entrance Exam
Scheduled Castes - 14 percent; Scheduled Tribes - 10 per cent; and Backward Classes - 10 per cent. For Children / dependents (brother) of Armed Personnel - 1 seat in each branch in each college. Two seats in each college of Sindri, Muzaffarpur, Patna and Bhagalpur are reserved for those holding a diploma in Engineering. Domicile Restrictions -BCECE Entrance Exam
Candidates, whose parents are natives of Bihar, or whose parents reside in Bihar, or whose parents are refugees residing in Bihar, or whose parents are employees of Bihar State Government, Central Government or Public Sector Undertakings of Government of India and UN agencies located in Bihar alone are eligible for admission. Candidates, whose parents are employees to Tata Iron & Steel Company, are eligible to seek admission at BIT, Sindri only.

The CEEE comprises of three papers of Physics, Chemistry and Maths of 1 hr. duration each. The standard of exam is that of Intermediate.

Assam [ JAT ]
JAT Assam,Joint Admission Test Entrance Exam Details
A Joint Admission Test is conducted by the Director of Technical Education, Assam for selection of candidates for admission to the first year of the B.E. course to the two State Government Colleges and REC (for Assam quota only).

The common details
Candidates seeking admission in any Regional Engineering College (against Assam quota) have to apply separately to Principal, Regional Engineering College, Silchar, in addition to appearing in Joint Admission Test.

The Test is held usually in the month of June.

Reservations for JAT Entrance Exam:
SC-7 per cent;
ST (Plains) - 10 per cent;
ST (Hills) - 5 per cent
Sons and Daughters of Ex-Servicemen - 2 seats;
Grandsons and Grand Daughters of Freedom Fighters - 4 seats.

Minimum Qualification - JAT Entrance Exam: Applicants must have passed the 2-year Pre-University (Science) Exam. of Guwahati/Dibrugarh University or an exam. Recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 50 per cent (45 per cent for SC and 40 per cent for ST candidates) marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English.

Age Limit for JAT Entrance Exam Not above 21 years or below 16 years of age on October 1 of the year of admission. For SC/ST candidates upper age limit is relaxable by 4 years and B.Sc., degree holders by 1 year.

Method of Selection for JAT Entrance Exam Selection is made on the basis of merit at the entrance test. Candidates have to produce a medical fitness certificate. Candidates belonging to SC/ST or an other reserved category are selected against the quota reserved for them.

The test consists of three papers of 3 hours duration: Maths, Physics and Chemistry of 100 marks each. The test is held at the places notified by the Director of Technical Education from time to time. The standard of the test is that of Intermediate.

Candidates belonging to following categories are exempted from appearing in the Admission Test;
(i) candidates nominated against reserved seats for other States, Union Terriotries and Foreign countries, if otherwise eligible; and
(ii) candidates ranked within the first ten positions in Pre-University Exam. of Guwahati/Dibrugarh University of HSSLC (Sc) exam. of the Board of Secondary Education, Assam provided they got not less than 75 percent marks in the aggregate in the year of admission. Application Procedure - JAT Entrance Exam: Application forms are available during the month of March / April from the Principals of the two Engineering Colleges on payment of prescribed fees in cahs or through post by sending crossed postal order payable to the Principal of the college alongwith a self-addressed envelope of 23 x 12 cm size.

(Part-I) of any University in MP / +2 examination of 10+2 scheme of MP Board of Secondary Education or any other equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects. For admission to B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) and B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) the candidates should have cleared in English paper also. Government nominees should secure 55 per cent in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. First class diploma holders and candidates who have already appeared in the 10+2 / B.Sc. (Part-I) examination are also eligible to apply though compartmental candidates are debarred from sitting in the admission test.

The Test is held usually in the month of May.

Reservations - PET Entrance Exam: SC-15 per cent: ST-21 per cent; Military Personnel - 5 per cent; Government of India nominees - 3 per cent; Children / Grand children of freedom fighters - 3 per cent.

Allocation of Seats - PET Entrance Exam:
Category (i) The candidates passing from schools in the Union Territory of Delhi - 85% seats.
Category (ii) The candidates passing from School and Colleges located outside the Union Territory of Delhi - 15% seats.

Age Limit - PET Entrance Exam Not more than 21 years on October 1 of the year of admission (relaxable by 3 years in case of SC/ST).

Selection Procedure - PET Entrance Exam: Selection of candidates in respect of MP quota in the Maulana Azad College of Technology, Bhopal and other 16 Regional Engineering Colleges was also done on the basis of result of the Combined Examination. Besides that, PET is also conducted for admission to B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering & Dairy Technology) course in College of Agricultural Engineering, Jabalpur and Dairy Technology, Raipur. All admissions (except for Government of India nominees and other reservations) to these colleges are made from the merit list prepared by the Mandal on the basis of Entrance Examination. Common details in respect of all these colleges are given below.

Selection (except Government nominees) is made on the basis of merit in the PET. The examination comprises of five sessions. Paper to be taken is of 3 hours duration consisting of objective type questions in Agr. Physics and Chemistry, Agr. Engineering and Statistics, Agronomy and Agr. Botany.
The Main Examination consists of three groups of papers (Given below) made on the basis of eligibility requirements of all the courses. A candidate has to select one and only one group out of the se three groups for the exam.

Group A:
For admission to 4/5 year course for BE/B.Tech/B.Arch/ B.Tech. (Chem. Tech.) / B. Tech. (Agr. Engg.). Candidates who have passed / appeared in Intermediate or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Papers to be taken at the CEE are Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

Group B:
B.Tech. (Agr. Engineering) 4 - year course. Candidates who have passed Intermediate examination in Agriculture. CEE Papers are: AG_I (Agricultural Physics and Chemistry), AG-II (Agricultural Engg. and Statistics) and AG-III (Agronomy and Agricultural Botany).

Group C:
For admission to 4/5 year course for BE/B.Tech./B.Arch. (at GCA, Lucknow) B.Tech. (Agr. Engg.) / B.Tech. (Chem. Tech.) Candidates who have passed Intermediate examination with Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Papers to be taken at CEE are Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Aptitude Test in Architecture.

Age Limit for UPCPMT Entrance Exam For most of the Institutions, (except other REs) maximum age is 22 years on October1 (relaxable by three years for SC/ST and UP Backward Class candidates) of the year of admission. However, there is no age limit at a few of the Regional Engineering Colleges.

Selection Procedure for UPCPMT Entrance Exam:
(a) All seats for three-years B.Tech. (Chemical Technology) courses at BHTI, Kanpur.
(b) 15 per cent seats at College, of Technology, GB Pant University Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar.
. Selection: Candidates are selected in order of merit of Combined Entrance Examination. No candidate shall be included in the merit list if he/she fails to secure minimum qualifying marks in aggregate in the papers indicated against each course. The minimum qualifying marks for different categories will be as per the decision of the UP State Govt. this shall be absolutely exclusive of any weightage applicable to the candidates.

West Bengal [ JEE ]
A Joint Entrance Examination is by the West Bengal Board of Examination is held for admission to the first year of degree programme in Engineering and Technology courses at: (i) Bengal Engineering College, Howrah, (ii) Jadavpur University, Calcutta (iii) Jalpalguri Government Engineering College, Jalpaiguri (iv) College of Textile Technology, Srampore. Hooghly, (v) College of Textile technology, Berhampore, Murshidabad, (vi) College of Leather Technology, Calcutta, (vii) College of Ceramic Technology, Calcutta (viii) State's quota in Regional Engineering College, Durgapur and other Regional Engineering Colleges. The Board provides the merit list of Entrance Examination to the Colleges Central Selection Committee which decides the final admission on the basis of merit of JEE.

Minimum Qualification for JEE Entrance Exam Must have passed 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination in the general or vocational stream of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry, Maths, English and Vernacular or any other fifth subject.

Age Limit for West Bengal JEE Entrance Exam Not over 21 years on August 1 of the year of admission (Relaxable by 3 years for SC/ST). For REC Durgapur, the upper age limit is 23 as on August 1 of the year of admission (26 years for SC/ST). For Jadavpur University, however, there is no age limit.

Selection Procedure for Joint Entrance Examination: Admission is made on the basis of marks obtained in the Joint Entrance Examination which is held on two days. The subjects of the Test and scheme of the papers is as follows:

Completed application form alongwith bank challan should reach the Board office by the notified date. After the receipt of the application by the Board, on Admit Card is sent to each applicant, informing his / her examination for JEE.

Admission for Engg. Degree College except Jadhavpur University: Application form may be obtained from the College on payment of requisite fee on cash or on production of original Admit Card of JEE by the candidates whose names appear in the merit list provided by the Board. 4) The Candidate should have passed or appeared/appearing in Intermediate Science (Biology group) (10+2) with English and shoul have secured a minimum of 50% marks in appregate as well as 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology subjects. For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the percentage of above mentioned marks will be 40% in place of 50%.
5) Those candidates who have passed or appeared in the Madhyama Examination - 2004 with Science subjects from Sampoornanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Varanasi, are eligible for admission to BAMS course only.

Arunachal Pradesh [ NEE ]
Applications on prescribed forms are invited for admission through entrance examinations to the undermentioned programmes :-

DIPLOMA (Tech)/ DEGREE (Forestry) MODULE : (NEE - II)

AGE for NEE Entrance Exam : 23 years (28 years for SC/ST/Handicapped candidates and 26 years for OBC and female candidates, or less as on 1st August, 2005.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION - NEE Entrance Exam:
(d) For Diploma (Tech) : (i) 10+2 (PCM/PCMB); OR (ii) 10+2 (vocational in specified discipline), OR (iii) NERIST Certificate (E&T) for admission in Computer Science or in respective branch. (b) For Degree (Forestry) : (i) 10+2 (PCM/PCMB); OR (ii) 10+2 vocational in Forestry/ Horticulture, OR (iii) NERIST Certificate in Forestry.

DEGREE MODULE (TECHNOLOGY): (NEE - III)

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION - NEE Entrance Exam :

Should have passed minimum 3 - years polytechnic Diploma course from any AICTE/Govt. recognized polytechnic in the respective discipline or allied branch (mentioned in the Information Brochure ) with 60% marks considering the aggregate marks of all the three years, or equivalent CGPA OR should have passed NERIST Diploma Module.

Note :
(I) Candidates appeared / appearing in the qualifying examination for NEE - I/ NEE - II/ NEE - III may also apply. However, they must produce the requisite pass certificate / marks sheets on the day of counseling/ registration failing which their selection shall stand cancelled.
(2) Candidates selected for admission to Degree Module through NEE - III shall have to undergo bridge course for two semesters (one year), besides the four- semester regular courses. Application forms duly filled in must reach NERIST on or before March 18, 2005, Applications received late will not be entertained. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
