Matriculation or equivalent with Science and Maths with 65% marks or 60% or more aggregate marks in 10+ 2 or equivalent examination with Science and Maths. For Direct Entry Artificer: 3 years Diploma with minimum 50% marks in Mechanica1/ Electrical/Electronics .Instrumentation Engineering/ Telecommunication, Aeronautical/Ship Building and Architecture from a Govt recognised Polytechnic/Institute.

Interviews Test/ Personality Test
Written Test: The Written Test in Science, Maths, English and GK will be of objective type and of one hour duration. For Diploma Holders (DEA) the Question Paper will have auditioned Sections of Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical, of which the candidates have to attempt one section. The results will be announced on the same day. Those who qualify will undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Medical Examination. Those who are declared medically fit would be considered fully qualified and those who are declared temporary medically unfit will be required to appear for Review Medical again on the stipulated date. Requisite number of preliminary qualified candidates will be sent on Railway Warrant to Chilka (Orissa) for final selection. The Final Selection will be on the basis of Psychological Test and Interview conducted at INS Chilka. Of the Direct Entry Artificers, the Artificer Sailors of the Marine Engineering branch are trained at INS Shivaji (Lonavala), Electrical Artificers (Radio and Power) at INS Valsura (Jarnnagar), Shipwright Artificers at Shipwright School (Visakhapatnam) and Air Engineering and Air Electrical Artificers at Naval Institute of Aeronautical Technology (Kochi).
Physical Standards for Indian Navy Artificer Apprentices/Direct Entry Artificer (Diploma Holders):
Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Qualifying in this Test is mandatory for enrolment. The standard of PFT is:
(i) One Mile (1.6 km) run -to be completed in 7 minutes.
(ii) 20 sit ups.
(iii) 10 push ups.

1.Engineering Degree in Electrical/Electronics/ Telecommunication/ Communication/ Instrumentation/ Computer Science and    Engineering or a combination of these subjects. OR
2. B. Tech in Radio Physics and Electronics of Calcutta University.
3. M.Sc. Physics with Electronics of Bombay University. OR
4. M.Sc. (Electronics) of Delhi, Bangalore, Lucknow, Gujarat or Calcutta University. OR
5. B.Sc. (Physics, Maths, Chemistry) and AMIE or equivalent degree in Electronics/Electrical/ Avionics/Teleconununication/Radio and 6. Radio Engineering/ AMAESI with Avionics/Communication with 2 years experience.

Minimum Educational Qualification For Mechanical Branch:
A first or high second class or equivalent grade (at least 55 per cent marks in aggregate of all semesters) in anyone of the following from recognised Indian/Foreign University or Institution:

Age limit for IAF Airmen Examination Technical Trades/Non-Technical Trades:
16 1/2 years to 19 1/2 years on the first day of the month in which the course is commencing. Upper age limit is relaxable by two years in technical trades for those who have passed Intermediate/equivalent examination or completed 3 years diploma course in Engineering.

Minimum Educational Qualification for Technical Trades:
1. A candidate should have passed Matriculation/equivalent examination with minimum of 60 per cent marks with English, Physics and Mathematics as Compulsory subjects; OR
2. Intermediate/lO + 2/equivalent examination with Mathematics, English and Physics (50% marks); OR
3. Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/ Automobile/Computer Science & instrumentation Technology - 3 years)from a recognised Polytechnic/Engineering College with 50% marks.

Minimum Educational Qualification for All Non-Technical Trades:
A candidate should have passed Matriculation or its equivalent examination with English as compulsory subject and minimum of 45 per cent marks in aggregate with pass marks in English. For Mechanical Transport Driver Trade there is no minimum percentage of marks.

Plan of Examination:
General Note about Examination Scheme
Eligible candidates are called for a Written Test in
(i) English,
(ii) Intelligence, and
(iii) General Awareness. The candidates for Technical Trades are also given an additional test in Mathematics and Science at one of the Selection Centres. Questions in these tests are Objective Type and of Matriculation Standard. For Non- Technical Trade the candidates also have to appear in a Trade Allocation Test.

Results of the Written Test are declared on the same day and the successful candidates will have to undergo Medical Examination the following working day. Candidates are advised to get their ears and teeth cleaned before appearing for the Interview and they should be prepared to stay for two to three days.

Physical Standards for IAF Airmen Examination Technical Trades/Non-Technical Trades:
1. Minimum Height: 152.5 cms (for Mechanical Transport Driver- 165 cms with minimum leg length of 99 cms);
2. Chest: Expanded chest measurement should not be less than 75 cms with minimum range of expansion of 5 cms;
3. Vision: For Technical Trades: Aided visual acuity of at least 6/12 in each eye with glasses or 6/6 in one eye and 6/36 in the worse eye. Myopia not exceeding 7D in any meridian Colour vision: Normal/Defective Safe CP2/CP3. Candidates should be physically and mentally fit to serve anywhere in the world For Non-Technical Trades: Visual acuity of at least 6/12 in each eye with glasses or 6/6 in one eye and 6/36 in other eye without glasses and correctable to 6/6 in each eye with glasses. For Mechanical Transport Driver: At least 6/36 (each eye) without glasses correctable to 6/6 and 6/9 with glasses. Hearing-able to hear forced whisper at 600 cms.

Minimum Educational Qualification For Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical Branch): Candidates must have one of the following qualifications with minimum 55% aggregate marks of all semesters/ years in Degree Examination:
Engineering Degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical Production/Industrial Production. OR (e) BSc (PCM) and AMIE or equivalent qualification and Associate Membership Examination Part II and III of ASI with Group I (Design & Production) or Group II (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) subjects, alongwith 2 years experience.

Details Regarding Selection Procedure:
Interviews Test/ Personality Test: Potential to be an officer will be tested at Air Force costs through Psychological Test, Group Discussion and Interview spread over 4-6 days atone of the Air Force Selection Boards located at Dehradun, Mysore and Varanasi. Prior to this all candidates have to appear for an Initial Screening Test called Engineering Knowledge Test conducted at various Air Force Units allover the country. No compensation will be paid to any injury sustained as a result of SSB Test. Only those candidates who secure a minimum of 55% marks (aggregate of all semesters) or above in Engineering Degree will be called for the tests. Candidates should be medically fit as per norms.

Minimum Educational Qualification for IAF Education Instructor:
A candidate should have passed BSc (Mathematics/Physics/Computer Science) with 50% marks and BEd OR MA (English)/MSc (Mathematics/Physics/Computer Science) with minimum II Class.

Details Regarding Selection Procedure
Interviews Test/ Personality Test Eligible candidates will be called to appear in a written (objective type) test in English, Current Affairs and General Awareness at one of the specified Centres. Those who qualify this test will be given a subjective test in English comprising an essay and paragraph writing. Question papers of Current Affairs and General Awareness will be in Hindi and English. These can be answered either in Hindi or English. Interview and Medical Examination will be conducted on the following day. The candidates who qualify both tests have to undergo Medical Examination on the following day.

Minimum Educational Qualification for Administrative And Logistics Branch:
Graduate 1 Class - Age: 20-23 years OR lost-Graduate/MBA/PGDBA I or II Class - Age: 20-25 years OR LLB three-year (or 5 years) course I or II Class - Age: 20-26 years. (or 20 to 25 years). LLB candidates are eligible to apply for Administrative Branch only.

Minimum Educational Qualification for Education Branch:
Post-Graduate in English/Psychology/Defence Studies/Maths/ Physics/Statistics/Computer Science - I or II Class. OR BE - I or II Class. OR MBA with a combination of minimum of two subjects of Physics, Maths, Statistics, English, Psychology and Defence Studies at BA/BSc level- I or II Class - Age: 11-25 years.

Accounts Branch:
B Com/B Com (Hons) in I Division - Age: 20-25 years OR ~ Com in I/II Division - Age: 20-25 years OR B Com/M Com with AICWA/Chartered/Registered or Incorporated Accountant - Age: 20-27 years.

Age limit for Coast Guard Naviks Exam:
17 to 22 years as on July or January 1- the day of the commencement of the course. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates. Ex. Servicemen are eligible for relaxation of upper age limit as admissible.

Minimum Educational Qualification for Coast Guard Naviks Exam :
General Duty Branch (GD): Should have passed 10th Class in 10 + 2 + 3 scheme or equivalent;
Domestic Branch (DB): Should have passed 8th class (Candidates who have secured less than 55% marks ( 45 per cent for SC/ST) in the qualifying examinations need not apply).

Physical Standards for Coast Guard Naviks Exam :
1. Height: Minimum 157 cms, may be reduced by 5 cms in the case of Gorkhas, Nepalese, Assamese (including those from Nagaland, Mizorarn, Meghalaya, Arurnanchal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura), Garhwalese, Sikkimese, local tribals of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and by 2 cms in case of candidates from Lakshadives, Mainland settlers in Andaman and Nicobar and candidates joining the Coast Guard on secondment from other Government departments;
2. Chest: Should be well proportioned. Minimum expansion 5 cms;
3. Weight: Proportionate to height and age (+10 per cent acceptable);
4. Eye Sight: General Duty 6/6 (Good eye) and 6/9 (Bad eye); Domestic Branch 6/18 (Good eye) and 6/36 (Baa eye). Candidates using glasses are not eligible for GD Branch.
