Interviews Test/
Personality Test
Written Test: The Written Test in Science, Maths, English
and GK will be of objective type and of one hour duration. For Diploma
Holders (DEA) the Question Paper will have auditioned Sections of Electronics,
Electrical and Mechanical, of which the candidates have to attempt one
section. The results will be announced on the same day. Those who qualify
will undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Medical Examination. Those
who are declared medically fit would be considered fully qualified and
those who are declared temporary medically unfit will be required to appear
for Review Medical again on the stipulated date. Requisite number of preliminary
qualified candidates will be sent on Railway Warrant to Chilka (Orissa)
for final selection. The Final Selection will be on the basis of Psychological
Test and Interview conducted at INS Chilka. Of the Direct Entry Artificers,
the Artificer Sailors of the Marine Engineering branch are trained at
INS Shivaji (Lonavala), Electrical Artificers (Radio and Power) at INS
Valsura (Jarnnagar), Shipwright Artificers at Shipwright School (Visakhapatnam)
and Air Engineering and Air Electrical Artificers at Naval Institute of
Aeronautical Technology (Kochi).
Physical Standards for Indian Navy Artificer Apprentices/Direct
Entry Artificer (Diploma Holders):
Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Qualifying in this Test
is mandatory for enrolment. The standard of PFT is:
(i) One Mile (1.6 km) run -to be completed in 7 minutes.
(ii) 20 sit ups.
(iii) 10 push ups.

Interviews Test/ Personality Test A short listed candidates
will appear before Air Force Selection Board and undergo screening through
Psychological Test, Group Test and Interview spread over 4-6 days at one
of the Air Force Selection Boards, located at Dehradun, Mysore and Varanasi.
Prior to this all candidates have to appear in an Initial Screening Test
called Engineering Knowledge Test. They will not be entitled to compensation
for injury sustained as a result of any test. Recognized candidates would
be medically examined and detailed strictly in order of Merit as assessed

Airman Technical Trades / Non-Technical Trades Exam |

Applications
are invited from male Indian citizens as defined in the Constitution of
India for selection as an Airman in Technical Trades or Non-Technical
Trades in the IAF for the courses commencing twice a year: first from
January to June and second from July to December. For the courses commencing
in the month of January, the exams are held in the month of August/September
of the preceding year and for the courses commencing in July, exams are
held in the month of April or May of the same year.
Age limit for IAF
Airmen Examination Technical Trades/Non-Technical Trades:
16 1/2 years to 19 1/2 years on the first day of the
month in which the course is commencing. Upper age limit is relaxable
by two years in technical trades for those who have passed Intermediate/equivalent
examination or completed 3 years diploma course in Engineering.
Minimum Educational
Qualification for Technical Trades:
1. A candidate should have passed Matriculation/equivalent
examination with minimum of 60 per cent marks with English, Physics and
Mathematics as Compulsory subjects; OR
2. Intermediate/lO + 2/equivalent examination with Mathematics,
English and Physics (50% marks); OR
3. Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/

aggregate with pass marks in English. For Mechanical Transport Driver
Trade there is no minimum percentage of marks.

General Note about Examination Scheme
Eligible candidates are called for a Written Test in
(i) English,
(ii) Intelligence, and
(iii) General Awareness. The candidates for Technical
Trades are also given an additional test in Mathematics and Science at
one of the Selection Centres. Questions in these tests are Objective Type
and of Matriculation Standard. For Non- Technical Trade the candidates
also have to appear in a Trade Allocation Test.
Results of the Written Test
are declared on the same day and the successful candidates will have to
undergo Medical Examination the following working day. Candidates are
advised to get their ears and teeth cleaned before appearing for the Interview
and they should be prepared to stay for two to three days.

examination is held twice a year generally in the months of March/ April
and November/December for the course starting from the coming July and
January respectively, for recruitment to the post of Naviks (other Ranks)
in the General Duty and Domestic Branch of Indian Coast Guard. Coast Guard
is an Armed Force of the Union.
Age limit for Coast
Guard Naviks Exam:
17 to 22 years as on July or January 1- the day of the commencement of
